Call For Articles

The Institute of Public Administration Canada (IPAC) is a networking organization to connect public servants, working at various levels of government and in various agencies, to share ideas and best practices, and learn from one another. You can learn more about IPAC here, and connect on LinkedIn here.

The newsletter, View From Victoria, is a key part of this, and IPAC's Victoria branch will be publishing the next edition in October.

We are looking for contributors so that public servants and academics, such as yourself, can share and get feedback on ideas across a diverse network of professionals working in First Nations, federal, provincial and local governments as well as in other public bodies.

We are looking for articles on one of the themes below, with a range of 300-500 words:

  • Tips on working in the public service (eg. doing well in interviews, dealing with various team/management dynamics, writing a good briefing note)

  • Governance (eg. instituting GBA+ in decision-making, work-from-home/hybrid policy, use of information technology)

  • Highlighting academic research

  • Particular policy themes (eg. implementing DRIPA in forestry practices, healthcare reform)

  • Building more effective front-line services (eg. wildfire administration, FrontCounterBC, inter-disciplinary healthcare services)

  • Office management (eg. managing a hybrid office)

We look forward to your submissions. Please submit your document to ipac@ipac-victoria.ca to indicate your interest in submitting an article. Articles will be due by September 29th, 2023.
