IPAC Victoria Election Procedures
In accordance with IPAC Victoria’s Constitution and Bylaws, the Board is elected every year at the Annual General Meeting in early September.
A call for nominations is issued in August at the same time the Annual General Meeting notice is sent. Nominations are sought for the following positions:
Chair
Vice Chair
Treasurer
Secretary
Members at Large
EXECUTIVE POSITIONS
The person convening the elections reads the names of the people who have been nominated for each position and then calls three times for nominations from the floor.
Chair
For the position of President, the nominee is Caitlin Brownrigg - confirmed
- I’ll now call, for the first time, for nominations from the floor.
- For the second time, are there any nominations from the floor?
- For the third time, are there any nominations from the floor?
Hearing none, I declare Caitlin Brownrigg elected.
Vice Chair
For the position of Vice President, the nominee is Clint Abbott - confirmed
- I’ll now call, for the first time, for nominations from the floor.
- For the second time, are there any nominations from the floor?
- For the third time, are there any nominations from the floor?
Hearing none, I declare Clint Abbott elected.
Treasurer
For the position of Treasurer, the nominee is Sarah Ng - confirmed
- I’ll now call, for the first time, for nominations from the floor.

- For the third time, are there any nominations from the floor?
Hearing none, I declare Sarah Ng elected.
Secretary
For the position of Secretary, the nominee is Amy Kirtay - confirmed

Hearing none, I declare Amy Kirtay elected.
Past Chair (does not apply as we are a new society)
By default, the outgoing President becomes the Past President.
The Past President for this year is (Name of Person).
MEMBERS AT LARGE
IPAC Victoria has an open Board structure that affords us flexibility when electing Members at
Large. We seek to have representation from key public sector areas. There is a limit to 11 members of the board in total, thus we can elect 7 Directors at Large.
The names of each nominee will be named all at once, and then there will be a call three times for any additional nominations from the floor.
Alphabetically by last name, the nominees are:
Directors/Members at Large:
- I’ll now call, for the first time, for nominations from the floor.
- For the second time, are there any nominations from the floor?
- For the third time, are there any nominations from the floor?
Hearing no further nominations, I declare these individuals to be elected as Members at Large.
No Nominee for Position
If we have not received a nomination for a position, the Chair calls three times for nominations from the floor. Before doing so, the Chair states that if no nominations are received, the new IPAC Victoria Board has the authority to appoint someone to this position at a later date.
