Transforming our societies and economies away from a reliance on fossil fuels is one of the greatest public policy challenges of our time. In order to minimize catastrophic climate change impacts, Canada needs to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 45% from 2010 levels by 2030 (IPCC, 2019).

There is an every growing array of solutions to meet this challenge. This Dialogue brings together experts, policy professionals and the public to discuss a range of policy solutions to the climate crisis. Participants will brainstorm solutions and together we will map out strategies for action on climate change.

With talks by Dr. Chris Kennedy, Civil Engineering (UVic); Andrew Moore, T’Sou-ke Nation solar project;  Hurrian Peyman, Senior Economic Analyst (Climate Action Secretariat); Dr. Kara Shaw, Associate Professor, Environmental Studies (UVic);  Fraser Work, Director, Engineering & Public Works (City of Victoria).

This event is supported by the Joy and Ken Williams Memorial Forum Fund.
